I grew up in a home where fitness was fun. It was never forced, only encouraged. We spent lots of time outdoors playing sports, and riding bikes. We also frequented the gym.
My parents were body builders when I was a little guy. It was common for us to frequent the gym as a family. Both my mom and dad tutored me in the application of correct form. They taught me the science of the sport through many years of conversation, great books and magazines which were lent or bought for me on a regular basis. They taught me all they knew and took it a few steps further with my own personal pursuit of fitness knowledge.
I have since served as an intern for the famous Cooper Aerobics Center in Dallas, Texas started by Kenneth Cooper, the doctor who coined the term “aerobics”. I have received two certifications as a personal trainer. One is from NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) and the other from the aforementioned Cooper Aerobics Center. I have also been certified by the (RRCA) Road Runners Club of America as a running coach. I take pride in my work and love to help others be fit.
I know fitness and am very confident in my ability to help people attain their goals. I am always learning and will continue to do so for the rest of my life. I wish to help anyone willing to dedicate themselves to a goal.
Nick you are the man. I remember the time we went and worked out our legs just after you finished the internship at Cooper. Even though I worked out my legs fairly consistently, the next two days after that work out I felt not only appropriately sore, but stronger, especially in the smaller muscles used for balancing. That was an awesome work out!
